The current work of wesleyArchitects focuses on architectural design in unique settings - including historic buildings and districts, urban renewal communities, natural preserves and coastal areas. Much of our work is residential in nature ranging from a homeless shelter, affordable housing, condominiums, townhouses and a boutique hotel in Philadelphia to additions and alterations to residences on the Main Line and vacation houses in the Pocono mountains and the Jersey shore. The firm has extensive experience in additions and alterations to existing buildings. wesleyArchitects is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council [USGBC]. Richard Wesley is a LEED Accredited Professional. The firm is an Energy Star Service Provider in partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy. wesleyArchitects has received numerous awards for projects including Riverbend Environmental Center in Gladwyne; Merchants’ Row, a nineteen-unit residential development in Old City; and Harriton Farm, a single-family house in Villanova selected as "Home of the Week" by Forbes Magazine. In recognition of excellence in architectural design, Richard Wesley was awarded an Alumni Achievement Award from the Alumni Society of the Pennsylvania State University and a Professional Designer Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts. A member of the American Institute of Architecture [AIA] and certified by the National Council of Architectural Registrations Boards [NCARB], Richard Wesley is licensed to practice architecture in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and numerous other states. He received a Bachelor of Architecture from Pennsylvania State University and a Masters of Architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design. A former faculty member at the University of Illinois, University of Notre Dame and Harvard University, he is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor of Architecture in the School of Design at the University of Pennsylvania.
